Gone out to Australia. 1882.

A bound, handwritten 145 p. autobiography in which Sandeman describes his adventures and experiences during several years in the colonies. It traces his voyage from England aboard the "Somersetshire" and his journey to "Burenda", a station in Western Queensland. Sandeman depicts the people, places, everyday activities, work and social life on sheep and cattle stations in country areas of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. These places include Ipswich, Charleville, Roma, Augathella, Blackall, Carnarvon Ranges, Bourke, Deniliquin, Mudgee, Gulgong and the Blue Mountains. He also describes his activities and visits to the theatre, opera and dances in Sydney and Melbourne.
